On being a Bishop
ON BEING A BISHOP
Roy WarkeNeither an autobiography nor a memoir, but a series of random notes and jottings, giving insight into the life and work of a bishop, and how the Church of Ireland works.
As such it is a bit of a Bishop's egg, but parts of it are excellent, while some, like the chapter misleadingly headed Naughty Clergy are disappointing. However, I did gain several interesting insights, not only into the life and work of a bishop, but also into how the Church of Ireland works. There is also theology and spirituality here. It is a short book, and easy to read. It is not a book I would ever have bought, but I'm glad to have read it.
